As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am a specialist. I have completed all graduate-level courses required to be an RMFT with CACFT. www.cacft.ca I have also completed  200 hours of supervision in marriage and family therapy. Please note that most therapists who belong to a counselling college only have to complete 50 hours of a practicum and 150 hours of direct client counselling hours, whereas I have gone above and beyond to be an RMFT and have completed 200 additional hours of supervision in couples and family therapy along with a multitidue of required graduate level courses in couples and family therapy.

Why pick me as your counsellor?

I am skilled in building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships that set the foundation for meaningful change. Research shows that when therapists respond in an attuned and empathetic way, clients feel heard, supported, and often gain the confidence to express their needs in other areas of life. I take pride in being deeply attuned to my clients, fostering a safe and supportive environment that promotes growth and success.

Experience You Can Trust, Empathy You Can Feel

As a therapist, I bring not only professional expertise but also the invaluable perspective of real-life experience. In my mid-40s, I have navigated life’s complexities and joys, equipping me with a deep understanding of the struggles and triumphs that shape us all.

From parenting a spirited teenager to facing the challenges of ADHD diagnoses, postpartum depression, career transitions, and personal loss, I understand life’s highs and lows firsthand. These experiences have taught me resilience, compassion, and the power of connection—qualities I now bring into the therapy room.

I believe that healing and growth come from being truly seen and understood. My own journey allows me to empathize deeply with my clients, offering a safe and supportive space where they can explore their challenges and rediscover their strengths. Whether you're facing personal struggles or seeking a path toward fulfillment, I am here to walk alongside you with understanding, wisdom, and care.

This work is a passion for me

This work is not just a profession for me—it is my passion. As a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT), I specialize in couples therapy and relationship counselling, including working with singles. My practice encompasses individuals in marriages, long-term relationships, and those newly navigating a relationship.

I also support individuals seeking to heal from trauma, infidelity, divorce, breakups, narcissism, or abuse. Additionally, I help clients who wish to understand themselves and their relationship goals more deeply, break unhelpful relationship patterns, or explore their attachment styles.

I firmly believe that our happiness and overall quality of life are intricately tied to our primary relationships. Supporting couples and individuals as they address relationship challenges is profoundly fulfilling for me, and I have devoted myself to becoming an expert in this field.

Unlike many therapists, who may only dedicate 5–20% of their caseload to couples therapy, it makes up approximately 80-90% of mine. The remaining 10-20% includes working with clients on areas such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I do not offer couples therapy as an adjunct to my services—it is my specialty. I have completed rigorous training, including certifications in levels 1, 2, and 3 of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman training, Narrative Therapy training, and numerous graduate-level courses in marriage and family therapy. Additionally, I’ve completed over 200 hours of supervision with a couples and family therapy supervisor.

EFT, the most effective research-backed modality for couples therapy, is at the heart of my approach. Studies show that 70–75% of couples move from distress to recovery, with approximately 90% experiencing significant improvements. This evidence-based method helps couples build greater connection, understanding, and satisfaction in their relationships.

As a dedicated specialist, I am passionate about helping couples, singles, and families improve communication, enhance their happiness, strengthen their bonds, and learn about relationships. Whether you’re looking to rebuild a relationship, deepen your connection, or work on personal growth within your relationships or for yourself as a single person, I am here to guide you toward a brighter and more fulfilling future.

*Please allow up to 24 hours for a response to your voicemail or email. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis, please contact 988 or call 911 immediately.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH A HUGE LIFE EVENT OR TRAUMA

TO BENEFIT FROM COUNSELLING. TALKING WITH A PROFESSIONAL CAN GET YOU THROUGH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS IN LIFE AND YOU'RE STRONGER IF YOU DO THAT

the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.”

― Mary Anne Radmacher

Although we offer both in person and teletherapy. If you want to use teletherapy but are unsure if it is right for you:

We encourage you to read up on the efficacy of teletherapy and how research shows it is just as effective as in person therapy. We switched to a 100% completely remote clinic as we found that 90% of our clients were asking for virtual therapy and coaching. They found it convenient to be at home or at the office and not have to drive into an appointment, find child care or  loose up to 2hrs of their day dealing with traffic and parking.

Our clients consistently relay that our virtual therapy and approach work well for them. They indicate they more comfortable in their own homes, felt freer to talk, be themselves. Our clients also found the resources we give them in between sessions was even more beneficial then in person sessions they had previously experienced where coaches and or counsellors provided them with 0 articles, resources, worksheets given between in person sessions.

We want this to be a positive and productive healing experience for you, so we are here to tailor it to your unique needs including for example asking about how you learn is it through videos  vs articles; or if you need adaptions we will try to accommodate best way we can.

Once our clients try online they really enjoy it, it begins to feel more natural  for them.

96% of our clients sign up for a 2nd session after a first virtual session with us.

We offer virtual: video and phone counselling, support groups and seminars as well as in person.

"
"Studies have broadly shown that teletherapy has similar outcomes in

most cases to in-person therapy. A recent systematic review and meta-

analysis found that telemedicine was comparable to in-person treatment

in efficacy, patient satisfaction and dropout rates."

WHY DID WE PICK YELLOWFINCH AS OUR NAME? WHAT DOES THE YELLOW FINCH (GOLDFINCH)  SYMBOLIZE?

A goldfinch (yellow finch) arrival is said to "remind you to enjoy life and savor each moment for the joy that is in it. Furthermore, it is also a time to celebrate who you are, your accomplishments, or just for the sheer fun of it. The Goldfinch meaning symbolizes that life is for you to live. Therefore, each moment you waste on such negative emotions as fear, hatred, and anger is a waste of time. This spirit animal is all about finding joy in the present moment. Seeing one represents that it is time to express yourself. Thus you need to speak up and speak your mind. Be straightforward, kind, and thoughtful with your words, and all will be resolved. "  As a mindfulness practitioner and true believer in "finding joy in the present moment" the yellow finch couldn't be a better representation of my business and practice in my own life.

"The goldfinches are symbolic of joy, enthusiasm, positivity, and persistence. In Christianity, these birds have a strong symbolism and are considered to be sacred. The spirit of the goldfinches also symbolizes optimism. These birds believe in always looking at the bright side of things. The third message from Goldfinch Spirit Animal is one of joy. There is a sweet cheerfulness in this little Bird and in the creature’s heartening song. Remaining positive and finding simple, sublime happiness in your life cannot be overstressed. Celebrate every sparkle in your journey and stay true to your vision. The third message from Goldfinch Spirit Animal is one of joy.
